Someone is watching from above. Now you can watch back.
Detect the drone. Locate the pilot. Keep the record. Delta 7 UAS is the drone-detection practice of Delta 7 Group, a California-licensed investigation firm led by a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent. We supply Dronetag Remote ID receivers, design the infrastructure, integrate the data into TAK or your private cloud, and train your people to turn detections into evidence.
Forty-five seconds from a trunk opening in a parking lot to a name on a report.
One flight, two points of view. The operator thinks nobody is watching. The Scout, and the investigator it dispatches, prove otherwise.
Do you have a drone problem? You would be the last to know.
Modern drones are quiet. A consumer drone costs less than a rifle scope, flies legally at 400 feet, and carries a camera that reads a license plate from across a street. Over a jail yard, a stadium, a substation or an estate, the people on the ground usually never hear it.
A family by the pool, filmed in detail from 400 feet by someone they will never see, who can come back tomorrow.
The aircraft, its serial number, its track, and the operator standing in a parking lot two streets away, with an investigator already moving on it.

Federal counter-UAS grant funding is now reaching state and local agencies, and the new federal framework distinguishes detection, which requires only a short certification, from mitigation, which stays with specially trained officers. Detection is the capability every agency can field today. That is the capability we sell, design and teach.
Phones, narcotics and weapons delivered over the wall at night. Without a receiver the first sign is the package in the yard.
Unauthorized flights over crowds and temporary flight restrictions. Security needs the operator's position, not a dot in the sky.
Reconnaissance of perimeters and critical equipment, and interference with manned aircraft at airports and heliports.
Paparazzi, stalkers and hostile surveillance of families, guests and deals. The intrusion is a civil cause of action in California.
Hobby drones over wildfires ground air tankers. Agency pilots need to know what else is in the airspace before they launch.
It launched from a parking lot. It hovered over the house twice. Nobody inside heard a thing.
A real detection from Delta 7's own Scout in Long Beach, redrawn from the flight record. This is what a Remote ID receiver turns an invisible intrusion into: a launch point, a track, two long hovers over one residence, and a return to the same parking lot.
Map geometry is redrawn for illustration; street names and the exact address are withheld. Times, altitudes and the aircraft serial are retained in the detection record.
We spent our careers finding people who did not want to be found.
Now we are your experts. Delta 7 UAS is led by a former FBI Supervisory Special Agent and staffed by former FBI personnel: the technical, forensic and investigative specialists who turned raw signals into evidence for decades. The receiver is Dronetag's. The tradecraft is ours.
- Former FBI Supervisory Special Agent24 years in the Bureau. Leads the practice and every engagement.
- Former FBI Master Digital Forensic ExaminerCurrent Cellebrite Master Instructor. Writes and teaches the evidence course.
- Former FBI Infrastructure Project ManagerDirected the technical infrastructure of every capital project in the Los Angeles field office.
- CA PI Lic. No. 188424A licensed California investigation firm, not a sensor vendor. The detection is the start of the case, not the end of the sale.
Delta 7 Group is not associated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation or any law enforcement agency. References to FBI service describe the prior careers of its personnel.
One accountable team. Hardware, software, design and training, delivered as one capability.
Most vendors ship a sensor. We deliver a working capability: the right Dronetag receiver for your site, data flowing into the system your team already uses, and operators who know how to preserve a detection as evidence.

Operator and forensics courses
Our own course: Scout and RIDER operation, data retrieval and analysis, evidence preservation and report preparation for the prosecutor. Plus Drone Forensics for examiners.
Detect
Every compliant drone broadcasts Remote ID: its serial number, position, altitude, speed and the operator's position. A Scout or RIDER receives the broadcast passively and places the aircraft on a live map within seconds.
Locate
The operator's position, or the take-off point, is on the same map. One click opens it in Google Maps or pushes it to TAK for the responding unit.
Respond
Officers or investigators move on the launch area while the aircraft is still in the air. Alert zones and whitelists keep your own drones and contractors off the alarm.
Record
Every flight is logged with its track and timestamps, exportable for the case file. Our training covers how to preserve and present it.
The digital license plate the FAA already requires
Since 2024, drones that must be registered in the United States must broadcast Remote ID in flight under ASTM F3411. That covers the DJI, Autel, Skydio and Parrot aircraft used in nearly every incident. A Remote ID receiver reads that broadcast the way an ADS-B receiver reads an airliner: no radar, no jamming, no emissions, no license to operate, and a fraction of the cost of RF-signature or radar systems.
- Works with all Remote ID-compliant aircraft, any manufacturer
- Reads 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Bluetooth and Wi-Fi broadcasts
- Lawful for private operators as well as agencies: receive only
- Serial number gives law enforcement a same-day path to the registered operator
- Aircraft that do not broadcast (some drones under 0.55 lb, modified aircraft) are outside what any Remote ID receiver can see. We tell you that up front.

Not sure you have a drone problem? We find out, and if you do, we find the pilot.
Buying equipment is the last step, not the first. For private clients, venues and companies, Delta 7 brings the capability to you: a licensed investigation firm that deploys the sensors, watches the airspace, responds to the launch area and documents the operator. Every engagement follows the same path.
Find out if there is a problem
An Airspace Threat Baseline: we deploy a Scout at the property or venue and collect for a set period, from a single day to 30 days or longer. You get a written answer: what flew, when, how often, and from where.
1 day minimum · 30 days or longer · written assessmentMonitor and respond
If there is activity, the platform stays. Attended during events and windows of exposure, unattended with remote monitoring for days or weeks, or traveling with the principal. Alert zones around the site; detections reviewed daily.
Attended · remote-monitored · traveling · hybridCollect the identifiers
On a detection, an investigator moves on the launch area while the aircraft is still airborne and documents the operator, the aircraft and the vehicle: photographs, plate, aircraft serial, time and place. The operator's identity is then investigated from those identifiers through lawful sources. An investigator on scene during the flight removes the defenses every operator keeps ready: I sold it, it was stolen, I wasn't flying.
Identifiers · investigation · deniability removedReport
A litigation-grade investigative report: detection logs, flight paths, timestamps, imagery, the operator's identity and a background investigation of the subject, with chain of custody. Delivered to your counsel or referred to law enforcement, with declarations and testimony available.
Report · referral · testimony Full service description ↗Build the permanent platform
When the threat is confirmed, we design a permanent detection installation for the property: receiver placement, antenna configuration, network and power, integrated into your security operations center. Your installer builds it; we commission it and train your team.
Design · commissioning · trainingDrone Intrusion Investigations
Detection systems tell you a drone was there. We tell you who sent it. Single-event coverage, multi-day deployments, long-term monitoring on a monthly or annual basis, and The Sentinel Program: 30, 60 or 90 days of continuous collection with scheduled response windows, interim reports and a formal threat assessment that answers whether it is the same aircraft or operator returning, and who is behind it. Repeat-offender identification across engagements is part of the service. California Civil Code §1708.8 gives you a civil claim against an operator who films private activity; our report is built to support it.
Drone Intrusion Investigations at Delta7Group.com ↗Event and situational-awareness deployments
Live airspace coverage of a wedding, private party, board meeting, deposition, concert or protective movement. One investigator on the console for contained venues; two when one must respond to the launch area while the other keeps watch. Vehicle-based setup in 30 minutes, day or night, with the picture pushed to your security team's TAK or command post. Rapid mobilization within 24 to 48 hours.
Rapid Deployment Kit
For SWAT, incident command, special events and corrections: a Scout Gen 2 on a mil-spec tripod mast with battery-powered PoE in a hard case, receiving within 30 minutes of arrival and feeding ATAK. Configured and tested by Delta 7, delivered with our Operator & Evidence course so the detection your officers make holds up in the report and in court. Demonstration units available for agency evaluation.

Applications
Scout is deployed wherever a fixed site needs to know what is flying over it. Dronetag reports 350+ public safety agencies, critical-infrastructure operators and armed forces using it worldwide, from airports, prisons, power plants and stadiums to agencies running drone-as-first-responder programs.
- Public safety agencies
- Police departments
- Fire departments
- Search & rescue teams
- Airports & critical infrastructure
- Prisons & correctional facilities
- Power plants & energy facilities
- Stadiums & venues
- Event security & political events
- Environmental & wildlife protection

Choosing a Scout configuration
Omni covers up to 6 mi in every direction. 2-Sector puts sector range (up to 15 mi) in the directions that matter. 4-Sector reaches 15 mi all round and is recommended for urban areas with heavy 2.4 and 5 GHz interference.
If ADS-B, FLARM, ADS-L, OGN or UAT matter at your site (airports, heliports, wildfire operations), choose an Aviation configuration on any antenna build.
Every Scout we supply has US LTE bands and is FirstNet capable (FirstNet firmware arriving in an upcoming update), so it runs on the network an agency already carries. For deployments outside the US, contact us. Not sure which build fits your site? The Delta 7 design package answers that before you buy.
Detections where your team already looks.
A map on a vendor's app is a start. Agencies run on TAK, dispatch and a common operating picture; corporate security runs on its own SOC. We integrate Dronetag data into those systems and design the physical installation that feeds them.
System integration
| Target | What we deliver |
|---|---|
| TAK | Scout and RIDER tracks as CoT objects in ATAK, WinTAK and iTAK, through TAK Server or direct feed. Drone and operator positions on the same map as your units. |
| Private cloud | A dedicated Dronetag cloud instance for your agency or company, isolated from the shared platform, with your user accounts, retention and export rules. |
| On-premise | Scout in On-Premise Mode on a local server, no internet connection. For facilities where detection data cannot leave the network. |
| C-UAS / UTM | Sensor Mode raw feed and the Dronetag API, MQTT and webhooks into an existing C-UAS or UTM platform. SAPIENT compatible for defense-grade pictures. |
| FirstNet | Scouts run on the public-safety LTE network an agency already carries. |
| Multi-site | Several Scouts networked into one picture across a campus, a city or a region, with whitelists and alert zones managed centrally. |
Manufacturer documentation (product sheets, user guides, operating modes, TAK setup) is provided with every quotation and at commissioning.
Infrastructure design
Design and project management only. We do not install. Our package gives your electrical contractor, IT group or facilities team everything needed to build it right the first time, drawn by a former FBI Infrastructure Project Manager who directed the technical infrastructure of every capital project in the FBI's Los Angeles field office.
- D1Site survey and threat baseline. Terrain, sightlines, RF environment, likely launch areas and a Scout or RIDER survey of what is already flying.
- D2Antenna configuration by site profile. Omni, 2-Sector or 4-Sector builds, or Aviation for sites with manned traffic, with sector bearings and mast height.
- D3Coverage plan. Receiver count and placement for a single site, a campus or a corridor, with expected ranges by aircraft class.

From a detection on a screen to a report a prosecutor can use.
Dronetag builds the receiver. The course that turns it into an investigative tool is ours, written by former FBI personnel and taught by a current Cellebrite Master Instructor. Students leave with a certificate of completion.
Drone Detection Operator & Evidence Course
Our five-module course for first responders, law enforcement personnel, Executive Protection details, event security companies and licensed security operators: anyone who will run a Scout or RIDER and may later have to explain a detection in a report, a declaration or on the stand.
- First responders. Fire, SAR and DFR teams: know what else is in the airspace before your own aircraft launch, and document the hobby drone that grounds an air tanker.
- Law enforcement. Patrol, special events, corrections and investigations: from alert to a Remote ID serial to a report the prosecutor can file.
- Executive Protection details. Residences, movements and venues: detect the drone over the principal, locate the operator, and hand counsel a case instead of a screenshot.
- Event security companies. Concerts, stadiums and private events under a TFR: run the console, push the picture to the command post, and direct a response team to the launch area.
- Licensed security operators. Guard companies and corporate security teams at campuses, ports and critical facilities: 24/7 monitoring, whitelisting your own contractors, escalation protocols.
- MOD 1Remote ID and the legal frameworkWhat is broadcast, which aircraft broadcast it, and what detection does and does not authorize.
- MOD 2Scout and RIDER operationDeployment, antenna selection, alert zones, whitelisting, TAK feed, field troubleshooting.
- MOD 3Data retrieval and analysisPulling flights from the app, Skyprint and the API; reading tracks; identifying repeat aircraft and operators across incidents.

What this equipment does, and what it does not.
Passive detection and situational awareness only
- Dronetag receivers listen for the Remote ID broadcast the FAA requires. They transmit nothing.
- Nothing we sell, design or teach jams, captures, disables, spoofs or takes control of an aircraft. Those actions are federal offenses for private parties and are reserved to specifically authorized and trained government personnel.
- Detection coverage depends on the RF environment, antenna configuration and placement, line of sight, aircraft type and protocol behavior. Ranges quoted are manufacturer figures under favorable conditions; our design package states expected performance for your site.
- Aircraft that do not broadcast Remote ID cannot be detected by a Remote ID receiver.
